School of Mathematics and Physics
The discipline of Mathematics is located in the School of Mathematics and Physics in the Faculty of Science. It is the leading provider of applied mathematical and statistical education in Queensland, with extensive undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (MPhil and PhD) and coursework. The Discipline is internationally recognised for its research excellence and hosts a number of first-class research centres. The role
The successful appointee will work on an Australian Research Council funded Discovery Project in Algebraic Combinatorics led by Ole Warnaar (UQ) and Eric Rains (Caltech). The project concerns questions and open problems in Macdonald polynomial theory and allied areas of algebraic geometry, combinatorics and representation theory.

The person
Applicants should possess a PhD in Mathematics, a track record in Algebraic Combinatorics and demonstrated capacity for research in mathematics as evidenced by publications in internationally recognised mathematics journals.
